David Fricker brings exceptional experience in national security, intelligence, information governance and public institutional leadership to National Spy Museum Australia. Before serving as Director-General of the National Archives of Australia from 2012 to 2021, he held senior executive positions in the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, including as Deputy Director-General and Chief Information Officer. His career has encompassed intelligence, security, digital transformation and the management of highly sensitive government information at the highest levels.
Mr Fricker is also internationally recognised for his contribution to archives and cultural heritage, having been appointed a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture. He provides the Museum with deep expertise in intelligence-related institutions, governance, records and the protection and interpretation of Australia’s documentary and national security history.
